Help choosing a videographer!

I’ve been going back and forth about choosing a videographer for months now and everyone is telling me it’s the way to go. Hiring a videographer is going to push me $1500 over budget because I’m only considering the best. My options are

Option 1: $50 less

  • 2 filmmakers
  • Cinematic trailer which is 3-5 minutes long
  • Full ceremony coverage (cinematic style)
  • Cinematic 20-25 feature film, which includes getting ready, ceremony, and reception
  • Films are delivered to me on a Flash drive (allowing me to burn my own DVD or blueray and do whatever I want with the footage).

My concern: is 20 minutes enough, especially if some of the 20 minutes will be of the ceremony of which I already have covered?  Also, they won’t stay for the entire thing and in the 20 minutes I might not have all the speeches in their entirety but they do a BEAUTIFUL job.

Option 2: $50 more

  • 2 filmmakers and 1 stationary video camera (ceremony only)
  • Cinematic trailer which is 3-5 minutes long
  • Documentary style feature film broken into chapters and disk. One disk for the ceremony and another for the reception- This is going to be 80 minutes in length or so
  • 2 DVDs, unless I want to pay an extra $250 for blu ray, which I’m having trouble justifying (opinions on this too please).
  • Use of hidden microphones for excellent sound

Concerns: I wouldn’t have any “getting ready” footage, which doesn’t seem like a big deal but I really don’t know. Also the documentary style is nice but the cinematic is just such a work of art!. Once the clock starts ticking I have 6 hours. Thoughts?!?!

We’re talking a matter of $50, so that really isn’t playing role. Both companies use the same great HD equipment and neither offers raw footage (which I’ve come to terms with).

Brides who have chosen video please chime in. Those who had a 20 minute feature film, were you ok with that? Do you feel like it was enough? Is the “getting ready” footage really necessary (the photographer will be with myself and the bridesmaids for it)? My fiancé doesn’t really understand the importance of video (yet) and isn’t being very helpful in making the decision (he’s also gone half the time with work, so most of it lands on my shoulders). Help help help, opinions opinions opinions PLEASE… Is there a clear winner?!? The both do amazing work.
